Daytrip to NY
I realize I never blogged about my day trip to New York with eldest granddaughter, E age 12 1/2. What fun. We went up on Superior Tours, a bus that makes round trips to NY everyday from a shopping center a mile away from here for a mere $55. It let us off at Rockefeller Center where we went to SaraK's office to see her and let my laptop recharge. From there we walked up to CafeK for breakfast...then down Broadway, stopped at Gap (12 year olds love to shop...)I had deja vu of shopping with her mother, but Thank G-d those genes didn't pass totally to E...she's not as intense as her mother when it comes to shopping and doesn't have the never ending stamina her mom has.
We stopped at the M&M store (she loaded up on weird colors...making small packages for her 3 siblings, which they loved). Then to the Hershey store (more chocolate), Toys are us. 2 hours after breakfast we were in front of J2 where we just had to stop for Pizza...then onto Macy's, Daffy's, H&M and other stores in Herald Square (we walked the entire day). At that point we decided to cab back to Rockefeller Center, pick up my laptop. Now I grew up in NY...and never knew that there was a whole "city" under Rockefeller Center. (How that eluded me, I don't know...) and now there's a kosher restaurant down there too...Mendy's. so we went to Mendy's bought supper, took it out and ate it watching the skaters at the ice skating rink in Rockefeller Center.
The bus back to Baltimore picked up at 6 pm right outside the skating rink so it was perfect. It was also a perfect day..we had a lovely time.
